Music and a Crazy Couple Days (and a Crazier Weekend to Come!)

Last night, we sent off the rough cut to the composer to give him a feel for what the end product will look like. I worked with the composer, John Doryk, for five weeks as an intern at his studio in Colorado Springs, CO, last spring. He writes great music, so I'm really excited for what he'll do for my project. He told me he's thinking of mixing ambient sounds and scoring for this piece, instead of a wall-to-wall musical score because he said it'll be more interesting and will highlight the action better. You can visit his website (http://www.johndoryk.com/) to listen to some scores he has written in the past.

Unfortunately, the only time that he'd be able to score Mirror is this Monday and Tuesday. That means we have to finish cutting the film by that time! However, we don't have to have the opening titles finished, which is good because Nick is still working on those. Also, we had a mix up with the audio files. We needed the files to be in a different form, but I forgot the harddrive with the files at Nick's, so today I had to go get it from Nick at ShopNBC, bring it to Brady in Rockford, and this evening I'm going to bring it back to Nick in Eagan!

We're scheduled to edit on Saturday. Hopefully, we can get it done in time!
